HHSPORTPONIES is a boutique breeding program owned by Heidi Humphrey. Her breeding program started with a passion for ponies. There was a particular pony that spurred this passion and that was Delphine. Delphine is an extremely willing and very elastic mover that Heidi imported from Germany. Delphine’s wonderful traits needed to be passed on as she was so well mannered and beautifully put together. Heidi decided to import a few to create a foundation for HH Sport Ponies. Goldjunge is out of the same dam as Delphine, so her bloodlines are in the stock that are produced today.

The most important trait: temperament. Heidi’s ponies have to be easy to handle and kind to the handler and rider. This is especially true for ponies as the rider is smaller and often either young or older and thus physically more vulnerable. The next important trait is movement—forward, free in the shoulder, tracking up, with a clear rhythm. Correct confirmation is also strived for in every pairing or import that HH Sport Ponies creates or acquires.

HH Sport Ponies also believes in a balanced feed system and plenty of turn out time for their young stock. Most of the young stock reside at Diel Dressage with Harry, Adria, and Shane Diel. The ponies flourish in their care and get wonderful training. It takes a great team to help produce quality ponies!
